HOW IS IT THAT NOEL WATERS CAN BE A PRO TEMPORE WHILE PRACTICING AT LIONEL, SAWYER & COLLINS? Their website describes themselves as "the largest private lawfirm in Nevada.....with a history of partners coming from powerful governmental positions......as a result of our extensive involvement in the Nevada, legal, POLITICAL, and business communities, we are in a unique position to assist......" Yeah, I'd say Noel Waters is in a "UNIQUE" position alright. Nothing like having a sitting judge with political aspirations embedded in the largest lawfirm in Nevada.

Police, DA should step up to the plate.
With the events of the past couple of years and in light of our most recent shooting, I feel compelled to offer up a few words concerning the capital city's sheriffs and justice departments. This is what I believe to be true.
Reading the article in the Aug. 10 edition of our local publication, two things are glaringly apparent again. The total ineptness of the sheriff's department when the family of the victims are more aware of the facts of the case than are the sheriff's department. Two, the heartless disdain of that department' regard toward the general public when they use a truly tragic event such as this to lobby for more funds.
Personally I have never seen a place where there are more police per capita as in Carson City. That's not the problem. I believe the problem to be two-fold................
The second part of the problem is your DA Noel "Coward" - excuse me, Waters, who will not prosecute any case unless he feels he has a 100 percent chance of winning. Probably he has political aspirations, and a poor prosecution record just wouldn't look good.
I truly hope the families of the victims get some justice in this matter, but I don't have high hopes.........................
